Thingvellir a natural rift valley between the American and European continental plates. It is a historic place for Icelanders, the oldest existing parliament in the world first met here in AD930.

Geysir is the geysir after which all other geysirs are named. It is no longer active although a smaller geysir Strokkur erupts on a regular basis.
